Caminito del Rey

Garganta del Chorro is a deep gorge which is surrounded by hundreds of meters of steep rock walls. Here you will also find the famous Caminito del Rey (the King's path), which used to be one of the world's most dangerous hiking trails. It is now fully restored and well maintained. Do you dare?

Not for people who are afraid of heights

Along the walls of the gorge is Caminito del Rey at altitudes up to 100 meters. The trails are approximately a meter wide and equipped with fencing. It is no longer dangerous but it still takes courage. For people who are afraid of heights this trail is not recommended. If you dare, it will be a special experience!

Open to the public again

The path is accessible for children from 8 years old. Tickets cost € 10 and can be purchased on www.caminitodelrey.info/en/. The trail is 7.7 kilometers long and a wonderful adventure for everyone without fear of heights. Casa Lobera also offers a 4x4 safarit tour to the Caminito del Rey.

Walking is another possibility

For visitors who do not like this kind of adventure there is enough nature to enjoy. Around El Chorro you will find plenty of less hazardous walking paths that are worthwhile. At the surrounding reservoirs you can have a picnic by the shore, rent a boat or have lunch at one of the restaurants and enjoy the atmosphere and the view. Read more about mountain hiking.

Reopened after reconstruction

This video gives you an impressive view of this spectacular walking trail. After reconstruction it is accessible for anyone. It will be an adventure but very safe. In March 2015 already more than 30,000 walkers signed up for this walk. All without vertigo.
